BINO BABY TELLS US A STORY

Cameron Emslie

My name is Cameron and my dad is Stirling Albion daft (he even enrolled me in the Young Reds when I was just born). When other Dads speak to their kids they say goo goo gah gah, my Dad says bino bino bino, you would think I would get more sense from my Mum but she too is football daft but she is a Partick fan and says jags jags jags. But I am worried all I hear is my Mum and Dad talking about how well the binos are doing on the park but off the park they are really worried about the future of the club because of its debt. They also talk about the new supporter's trust that has been set up so it can help the club and take it more into the local community and eventually have a representative on the board. My Mum knows all about this as she has had the same experience with Partick Thistle and their fans got together like this to save the club. The club is now far more financially secure and on the park they have returned from the depths of the second division to the premier league (even she has joined the binos trust) and my Dad has joined the trusts board to give his time and effort for the club. So hopefully all bino fans out there will consider joining the trust and have their say in Stirling Albion through the trust and give me a club to support when I grow up or I will have to go and see Partick Thistle.

FUND RAISING QUIZ FOR YORKHILL

Bino fan Archie MacCaskell and his partner Ruth held a fundraising quiz and karaoke night to raise money for Yorkhill hospital recently. They did this in order to raise some much-needed funds to allow the great work of the staff at the hospital for the kids to continue. They themselves have experienced this work when their child was taken to the hospital. They felt they had to help in the raising of funds for the hospital so that their work can continue. So a quiz night was organised and the supporters trust was represented on the night.

A team comprising Jim Thomson, Graham Hamilton, Colin Ogilvie and Alan Pratt represented the supporters trust. The team came second equal out of 13 teams and only one point behind the winners. It was a great night overall and Archie and Ruth raised £600 on the night £450 from the quiz and the balance from two donations including one from the Halfway House where the event was held. A great achievement, which will allow the hospital to continue its great work with the children of Scotland. So well done Archie and Ruth
