Minutes of Meeting: 24th October 2002

The second executive meeting of the trust was held in the Halfway House, Stirling on 28th November, 2002

Secretary: Jim Thomson

Attendance: John Buchan, Neil Emslie, David Gardner, Graham Hamilton, Richard King, Murray McLeod, Sandy Morton, Colin S. Ogilvie, Nelson Robertson, Jim Thomson,.

Apologies: Linda A Graham, Robert Cunningham.

  1. The minutes of the first meeting were approved.
  2. Registration of Trust. - Papers have been submitted to Cobetts, Solicitors. Once returned, they have to be signed by our Executive.
  3. Registered Office - Bell and Craig Solicitors have accepted us using their office. The building is listed and this might affect the erection of a nameplate.
  4. Membership - To date we have 45 signed up members, with around 30 others who expressed an interest.
  5. Bank Account. A temporary account has been set up meantime. Currently £436.77 in account. A further £70 was handed over to the treasurer.
  6. Fundraising - Various fundraisers were considered.

  7. Race Night, Casino Night, Irish Bingo, Play Spot, Coffee Morning, Stalls at local events, Celeidh, Burns Supper, Dinner Dance, St Andrews Night, Karaoke, Treasure Hunt, Auction of memorabilia, Golf Tournament, Garden Fete, 200 Club, Bucket Collection, Badges, Website, Quiz Night, Links with Sunderland FC, Links with Japan (Albion Tour of 60s), Contact with former players, Licensed Premises.
    It was noted that a lottery license will be required for some of these activities. A working party will consider obtaining licensed premises in the town, make contact with supporters club.
  8. Newsletter - Graham Hamilton has prepared a draft news-letter, it will be amended to take account of new logo. Agreed to print off around 200 to hand out at next home game, approach Club for approval. Membership to be sent a copy in the post, along with membership card.
  9. Contact with Club - The Chairman has written to Club, no response to date. A 2nd letter was read out and approved. Prior to writing, Dick will telephone the Club and invite them to an informal meeting. It was noted that Dick's letter to the Observor was printed this week, describing the purpose of the Trust.
  10. Any Other Business
    • It was agreed that we sponsor a player and a match, Montrose game on 18th January. Mark McNally is the preferred player. The Secretary is to write to the Commercial Manager. It was agreed that individuals would pay for sponsorship, invites to go out to membership once agreed by Club.
    • AGM will take place on 27th February in the Halfway House, 7.30pm.
    • The next executive meeting will take place on 16th January, Halfway House, 7.30pm.
    • Auditors will be required to check accounts, prior to AGM.
    • The trust have been invited to attend a Conference on 19th January, to be held at Tynecastle. The SFA,SPL and SFL have been invited.
